For one more year, Ikaros
International Chess Tournament is preparing to welcome the chessplayers and
all friends who will visit the beautiful island of Ikaria in order to combine
an interesting chess tournament with relaxing vacations.
Ikaros tournament, that
commenced in 1978 as a friendly encounted between local Ikaria players with
some strong invited players and has now evolved to a trademark of the Greek summer
tournament calendar, completes 41
consecutive years of tournaments this summer. The friendly and relaxed
atmosphere, the reasonable prices and the cozy mood of Ikaria will be again
present this year as well. The only difference will be the slight shift of the
dates of the tournament towards mid-July (due to the shift of the Greek Premier League). So the 41st Ikaros International Chess Tournament will be held from 16
to 22 July 2018 (Monday to Sunday).
As every year, once more, the overall participation cost will be kept low. Prices will get even lower in case of triple
of four bed rooms, while, as also every year, there are special discounts for families,
juniors, club teams, unemployed and persons with
disabilities. Moreover there are additional discounts for those who will
pay in advance. Additionally, this year too, the organization committee will
try to get reduced ferry ticket prices for the tournament participants. Special conditions will also be offered
to a limited number of titled players.

particular credentials, but those who plan to visit it for the first time can
